Arizona at Dallas- NFL Hall of Fame Game Preview and Pick
The 2017 NFL preseason kicks things off this Thursday night with the Arizona Cardinals squaring off against the Dallas Cowboys in this year’s Hall of Fame Game at Canton, Ohio. Game time from Canton is set for 8 p.m. (ET) and it will be broadcast nationally on NBC.
Arizona at Dallas Game Preview
The Cardinals followed up three-straight seasons of double-digit victories and two trips to the playoffs with a tumble to 7-8-1 last year straight-up while going 6-10 against the spread. It may be a bit too early to put fifth-year head coach Bruce Arians on the hot seat in Arizona, but with the expectation level is still running high, another losing season may dial things up just a bit. It does not help that the current betting odds at BetAnySports favor the UNDER on the Cardinals’ projected 8.5 win total at -120.
Carson Palmer will still be under center when the games start counting for reel so look for Drew Stanton to lead the Cardinals’ offense at quarterback on Thursday night with Blaine Gabbert and Trevor Knight also in the mix. The ground game should be anchored by Chris Johnson in place of starter David Johnson and Arizona fans will hopefully get their first look at linebacker Haason Reddick as the team’s top draft choice this offseason.
Dallas made a huge leap from just four wins in 2015 to a 13-3 SU record last season on its way to the NFC East Division title. The Cowboys were also one of the best betting teams in the NFL at BetAnySports through the first 10 games of the regular season at 9-0-1 ATS, but they faded to just 1-5 ATS in the last six games on the schedule.
Two big reasons for all that success were Dak Prescott at quarterback and Ezekiel Elliott anchoring the ground game. Neither player should see all that much action in this game, so look for Kellen Moore to take some snaps at quarterback while Ronnie Hillman gets a chance to run the ball. Dallas will be looking to see what its new and improved defense secondary looks like after finishing last season ranked 26th in the NFL against the pass.

With so many players from each team’s roster seeing action on Thursday night, the best play in this game would be the UNDER on BetAnySports 35-point total line. You can usually count on the defense being well ahead of the offense with most teams this early in the preseason.
