Football north of the border in the CFL moves to Week 6 of the regular season with the Saskatchewan Roughriders taking on the Hamilton Tiger-Cats this Thursday night in the backend of an extended inter-division home-and-home series. Game time from TD Place is set for 7:30 p.m. (ET).

Saskatchewan at Hamilton Game Preview

The Roughriders will be going for the series sweep on Thursday night coming off last week’s bye. They beat Hamilton 18-13 in Week 4 as six-point underdogs at home. The total stayed well UNDER BetAnySports’ closing 51-point line in that game and it has stayed UNDER in three of Saskatchewan’s first four games this season. It is 2-2 both straight-up and against the spread in those four contests.

Saskatchewan struggled to move the ball through the air in the first meeting with Brandon Bridge getting the start at quarterback. He completed 11 of his 13 passes for 101 yards. David Watford added another 47 yards through the air on three of six completions. The Roughriders’ offense did have success running the ball in that game with 150 yards rushing on 23 attempts.

Hamilton is also coming off a bye after going 2-2 SU and ATS in its first four games. The total has stayed UNDER BetAnySports’ closing line in three of its first four games this season. The Tiger-Cats have played three of those four games on the road with a 31-17 Week 3 victory over Winnipeg as 4.5-point favorites their only home game this year.

With Jeremiah Masoli under center, the Tiger-Cats had no problem moving the ball downfield through the air in that first meeting. He ended the game with 333 passing yards after completing 23 of his 43 passing attempts, but he could not find a way to get his team into the end zone through the air. He also led the way on the ground with 60 yards rushing on five carries.

Each of these offenses had a tough time finding the end zone in the first meeting in a low-scoring battle. I see the same thing happening this time around with the total once again staying UNDER BetAnySports’ current line.
