Toronto at Cleveland – Tuesday NBA Pick
The Toronto Raptors wrap up their three-game season series against the Cleveland Cavaliers this Tuesday night in a 7 p.m. tip from Quicken Loans Arena.
Toronto at Cleveland Game Preview
Heading into Tuesday’s season-series rubber match, the home team has won the first two meetings both straight-up and against the spread. Toronto was on the wrong end of a 132-129 loss to the Cavaliers on March 21 as a two-point road favorite. Since that loss, it has split its last four games as part of a 3-4 SU record in its last seven games. The Raptors failed to cover in Saturday’s 110-99 loss to Boston as 4.5-point road favorites on BetAnySports’ closing line to fall to a costly 0-8 ATS in their last eight games.
The loss to the Celtics was also costly to Toronto’s quest for the top seed in the Eastern Conference. At 55-21 SU (40-36 ATS), its lead over the Celtics for first place is down to just two games with six games left to play. Led by DeMar DeRozan’s 23.4-point scoring average, the Raptors are ranked third in the NBA in scoring with 112.3 points per game. He put up 32 points while going 12-for-19 from the field in Saturday’s losing cause.
Cleveland is trying to hold off Philadelphia and Indiana for the third seed in the East. Including that recent win against Toronto, it has gone 8-1 SU in its last nine games with Sunday’s 98-87 victory against Dallas as a 10.5-point home favorite with BetAnySports. The total stayed UNDER 213 points in that game and it has stayed UNDER in five of its last six contests. The Cavaliers bring a SU six-game home winning streak into Tuesday night’s showdown. They have covered the spread in five of the games with the total staying UNDER in four of the six games.
Trailing by three points heading into the fourth quarter, Cleveland outscored Dallas 25-10 in the final quarter to pull away for the win. LeBron James posted his 17th triple-double of the season with 16 points, 13 rebounds and 12 assists to lead the way. Kevin Love added 13 points but struggled to a 4-for-13 shooting performance from the field.
Toronto at Cleveland Free Game Prediction
The first two meetings in the season series went OVER the closing total line. While my lean on a side is towards Toronto, I am betting that this is the third game in the season series go OVER the total line.
