The Cleveland Indians and the Boston Red Sox wrap up this week’s three-game AL clash at Fenway Park on Wednesday night at 7 p.m. (ET) as the featured MLB matchup on ESPN.

Cleveland at Boston Game Preview

Cleveland came into this series as a -124 road favorite with a hot Mike Clevinger on the mound, but the end result of Monday night’s opener was a disappointing 6-2 loss. The Indians have now scored a combined three runs in a pair of losses on the heels of an impressive nine-game winning streak in which this lineup tallied an average of 7.3 runs a game. They are still two games up on Kansas City in the AL Central at 57-47 overall.

The Indians will try and end this series on a winning note with Trevor Bauer on the mound. He will be making his 21st start of the season with a 5.25 ERA and a 1.46 WHIP. The right-hander picked up the win his last time out by holding the Los Angeles Angels to one earned run on seven hits in eight innings pitched.

Monday night’s win was a welcomed sign for the Fenway faithful after Boston slid to 3-7 over its past 10 games. This slide dropped the Red Sox into second place in the AL East, but with the win in Game 1 of this series they are still just a half-game in back of New York at 58-49 overall. Boston is now 31-20 at home this season and the total has stayed UNDER VietBet’s closing line in nine of its last 11 games played at home.

The Red Sox are expected to go with Rick Porcello as their starter for Wednesday night. The right-hander has had his share of ups and downs this season at 4-14, but it is tough to blame him for his last four losses behind a combined four runs of offense from Boston’s lineup. His ERA stands at 4.55 with a 1.38 WHIP after allowing four earned runs on six hits in last Friday’s six-inning effort against Kansas City.
