Detroit Tigers vs. Kansas City Royals – 7/25/17 MLB Free Pick
The Kansas City Royals and the Detroit Tigers continue this week’s three-game AL Central Division clash with Game 2 this Tuesday night in a 7:10 p.m. (ET) start at Comerica Park.
Kansas City at Detroit Game Preview
Kansas City comes into this week’s series with a five-game winning streak that started last Wednesday with a pair of victories at home against Detroit by a combined score of 20-7. The Royals won their next three games at home against the Chicago White Sox while pounding out another 19 runs. Despite all of this scoring, the total still stayed UNDER BetAnySports’ closing line in three of their last five games. Kansas City is now 50-47 on the year and just a game and a half behind Cleveland in the AL Central Division race.
The Royals will turn to Danny Duffy as their starter on Tuesday night. The left-hander is an even 6-6 on the year with a 3.71 ERA and a 1.28 WHIP. He faced the Tigers in his last start on July 20 and allowed four earned runs on nine hits but still picked up the win behind a ton of run support in his team’s 16-4 victory.
Detroit did win the first two games of last week’s extended four-game set against its division rivals by outscoring Kansas City 19-5. The Tigers went on to take two out of three this weekend on the road against Minnesota. At 45-52 coming into this series, they are 6.5 games in back of the Indians in the division title race. Detroit is 25-21 at home this season and the total has gone OVER BetAnySports’ closing line in seven of its last nine games overall.
Look for Michael Fulmer to be on the mound for the Tigers on Tuesday night. Last week against the Royals, the right-hander only lasted 2 2/3 innings after getting shelled with five earned runs on seven hits. He closed out the month of June with a victory against Kansas City at home by holding the Royals to two earned runs on seven hits in 8 2/3 innings pitched. His ERA on the year is now 3.35 with a 1.11 WHIP.

Both of these starters got knocked around by the opposing team’s lineup last week and for the second time in six days they will be facing one another. I give the slight edge to Fulmer pitching at home this time around in what should be a Detroit victory on Tuesday night.
