Denver at Kansas City Game Preview

Denver’s two-game losing streak to the New York Giants at home and to the Los Angeles Chargers on the road as turned into a major concern in light of the fact that it only tallied a combined 10 points in those two setbacks. The failed to cover in both games to fall to 2-3-1 against the spread and the total has now stayed UNDER BetAnySports’ closing line in the Broncos last three games.

This offense has struggled to put points on the board in its last four outings and on the year it is ranked 24th in the league in scoring with 18.0 points per game. Trevor Siemian remains the starter at quarterback and he has thrown for 1,471 yards and eight touchdowns. One of his top targets Emmanuel Sanders remains questionable for Monday night with a bad ankle. CJ Anderson continues to anchor the ground game with 391 yards rushing on 92 carries. On the other side of the ball, Denver remains the top team in the NFL in total yards allowed.

The Chiefs suddenly find themselves at 5-2 both SU and ATS with back-to-back losses to Pittsburgh at home and to Oakland on the road. The total has gone OVER in five of the seven games following Sunday’s 31-30 loss to the Raiders as three-point favorites. Kansas City remains the second-highest scoring team in the league with an average of 29.6 points per game.

Two of the biggest issues coming into Monday night’s matchup is Kansas City’s inability to effectively run the ball on offense or defend against the pass on defense given its recent play. Rookie running back Kareem Hunt rushed for over 100 yards in four of his first five NFL starts, but he has been held to a combined 108 yards in those two losses. The Chiefs’ defense had no answer for the Raiders’ passing game last Sunday after they rolled up 417 yards through the air.

Monday night’s division matchup suddenly becomes a huge game for both of these teams. Each one has had its issues the past two weeks, but Kansas City is still the better all-around team in this contest. Denver’s defense can only do so much in a game that the Chiefs go onto to cover at BetAnySports.
