Kansas City at Oakland Game Preview
And then there were none after the Chiefs fell from the ranks of the undefeated in Sunday’s stunning 19-13 loss to Pittsburgh as 3.5-point home favorites. The total stayed UNDER BetAnySports’ closing 46.5-point line in that game after going OVER in four of their first five games. This was the first time this season that Kansas City failed to cover the closing spread and it is now 4-1 against the spread when closing as a favorite.
Nothing was going as expected for the Chiefs in Sunday’s loss. Alex Smith looked rather ordinary at quarterback with 246 yards passing and one touchdown throw and he only completed 19 of his 34 passing attempts. Even worse was Kansas City’s vaunted ground game with just 28 yards rushing on 15 attempts. The defense also took a big step backwards by allowing 439 yards of total offense to the Steelers including 194 yards on the ground.
Oakland has been sliding backwards since Week 2 with a four-game losing streak both SU and ATS. The latest setback was against the Los Angeles Chargers in Sunday’s 17-16 loss as a three-point home favorite. The Raiders are now 1-2 at home this season (SU and ATS) as part of a 2-4 record both ways. The total has stayed UNDER in four of their first six games
The Raiders welcomed the return of Derek Carr to the starting lineup after missing some time with a back injury, but he could do little to improve an offense that has now failed to score more than 17 points in each of the last four games. He threw for 171 yards on 21 completions and two of his 30 attempts resulted in interceptions. Oakland has faded to 18th in the NFL in scoring with 20.7 points per game and it is 30th in the league in total yards.

You almost expected Kansas City to stumble last week given such a strong start, but I also expect the Chiefs to quickly return to form against an Oakland team that has suddenly forgotten how to win games. Lay the 2.5 points at BetAnySports and take the Chiefs both SU and ATS
