Miami at Carolina- NFL Week 10 Monday Night Game Preview and Pick
Miami at Carolina Game Preview
Push could come to shove for Miami on Monday night coming off a pair of losses to Baltimore on the road and to Oakland at home. The Dolphins are now an even 4-4 on the year straight-up with a 3-3-2 record against the spread. The total went OVER BetAnySports’ closing 44.5-point line in last Sunday’s 27-24 loss to the Raiders as three-point underdogs and it has gone OVER in their last three games. Miami is 2-2-1 ATS this season as an underdog.
The one positive takeaway from last week’s loss was Jay Culter’s ability to pump some life into Miami’s anemic offense. He completed over 80 percent of his 42 passing attempts for 311 yards and three scores and this was the just the second time this season that the Dolphins posted more than 20 points. There has to be some concern on defense given last Sunday’s breakdowns on that side of the ball, but this unit is still 10th in the league in total yards allowed.
Carolina moved to 6-3 SU with a 5-3-1 record ATS with last Sunday’s 20-17 victory against Atlanta as a three-point home underdog. This followed a 17-3 win on the road against Tampa Bay as a 1.5-point underdog. The total stayed UNDER BetAnySports’ closing line in both of those games. The Panthers remain at home this week with a 1-2-1 record ATS in their first four games this season at Bank of America Stadium and they are 1-3-1 ATS when closing as favorites.
When Cam Newton is on his game, he remains one of the top quarterbacks in the NFL. That has not always been the case this season with 11 interceptions against his 10 touchdown throws. He has also been sacked 23 times in nine games. Carolina’s primary strength remains a defense that is first in the league in yards allowed (274.1) and fourth in points allowed (17.7).
Miami at Carolina Free Game Prediction
It is hard to see Miami winning this game SU on the road no matter how bad it needs a win, but it is also hard to see Carolina covering as a double-digit favorite with BetAnySports. I will take the 10 points on Monday night and bet that the road team covers ATS.
