Minnesota at Seattle- NFL Week 2 Preseason Game Preview and Pick
Friday night’s solo NFL game in Week 2 of the preseason pits the Minnesota Vikings on the road against the Seattle Seahawks in a 10 p.m. (ET) start at CenturyLink Field. This NFC clash will be broadcast nationally on NFL Network.
Minnesota at Seattle Game Preview
The Vikings went a perfect 4-0 both straight-up and against the spread last year in the preseason before settling for an even 8-8 SU (9-7 ATS) record when the games counted for real. They continued their preseason success with a 17-10 victory against Buffalo in Week 1 as three-point favorites. The total stayed UNDER 38 points in that game and it has stayed UNDER in four of Minnesota’s last five exhibition contests.
Case Keenum made a strong case at quarterback against the Bills with 121 yards passing while completing an efficient 11 of his 16 attempts. Teddy Bridgewater is still coming back from last year’s devastating injury so expect to see a bit more of Sam Bradford under center on Friday night. The Vikings selected former Florida running back Dalvin Cook in the first round of this year’s draft and in his first action he ran the ball five times for 13 yards.
Seattle started its preseason run on a strong note with a 48-17 pasting of the Los Angeles Chargers as a slight two-point road favorite with VietBet. The total easily went OVER the 37.5-point closing line. Last year in Week 2 of the preseason, the Seahawks came up short against Minnesota in an 18-11 loss as 2.5-point favorites at home and the total stayed UNDER 39 points. This was their only preseason loss in 2016 both SU and ATS before winning the NFC West with a SU record of 11-6-1 while going 8-9-1 ATS.
Russell Wilson should get a longer shot at running Seattle’s first-team offense this Friday night after completing three of four passes against the Chargers for 41 yards in limited play. Backup quarterback Trevone Boykin made the most of the opportunity by completing 12-of-15 passes for 189 yards and a score. He also added 31 yards and a touchdown on four runs. For a team that is known for its defense, the Seahawks rolled up a total of 458 yards to look pretty impressive on the other side of the ball.
Minnesota at Seattle Free Game Prediction
Both teams should play their starters deep into the first half, but with the reserves handling the second half of the game, I am going with Seattle to win at home both SU and ATS on VietBet’s three-point line.
