Oakland at Miami- NFL Week 9 Sunday Night Game Preview and Pick
This Sunday night’s prime time NFL matchup is an AFC clash between the Oakland Raiders and the Miami Dolphins at Hard Rock Stadium. Kickoff on NBC is set for 8:30 p.m. (ET).
Oakland at Miami Game Preview
The Raiders started the season 2-0 both straight-up and against the spread, but they have only added one more win to that total against five losses. The net result is a troubling 3-5 record (SU and ATS) heading into the second half of their schedule. The total went OVER 47.5 points in Sunday’s 34-14 loss to Buffalo as a 1.5-point road underdog and it has gone OVER VietBet’s closing line in three of Oakland’s last four games.
The problems continue to mount on both sides of the ball for the Raiders. The offense is currently ranked 20th in the league in total yards and 26th in average rushing yards per game. Derek Carr has thrown for 1,654 yards and 12 touchdowns but he also has six interceptions as part of more than one inconsistent performance this year. Oakland’s defense is 25th in yards allowed while allowing 23.8 points per game.
Miami is coming off its most forgettable performance in recent memory in a 40-0 loss to Baltimore last Thursday night. The loss dropped the Dolphins to 4-3 SU and 3-3-1 ATS after closing as three-point road underdogs in that game. The total has now gone OVER in their last two games after staying UNDER VietBet’s closing line in their first five outings. They are an even 1-1-1 ATS at home this season.
Jay Cutler remains day-to-day for Sunday night with injured ribs. Matt Moore got the start at quarterback against the Ravens in his place and could do nothing with an offense that is ranked at the bottom of the league in both yards gained (252.4) and points scored (13.1) per game. This unit is as equally as deficient in moving the ball through the air and on the ground. Miami’s defense moves to 16th in the league in points allowed (21.7)

While both of these teams desperately need a win this week to get their season back on track, each team’s current form on offense lends itself to a lower scoring game than VietBet’s 44-point total line might suggest. I will stick with the UNDER on Sunday night as my ‘best bet’ pick.
