Tennessee at New England- NFL Divisional Round Game Preview and Pick
The Tennessee Titans stay on the road to Super Bowl LII this Saturday night in an AFC Divisional Round matchup against the New England Patriots at Gillette Stadium in an 8:15 p.m. start on CBS.
Tennessee at New England Game Preview
Very few NFL experts had Tennessee getting past Kansas City in the Wild Card Round as an 8.5-point road underdog with VietBet. Following an incredible 22-21 come-from-behind victory on Saturday at Arrowhead Saturday, the Titans have been bumped up to even bigger road dogs this time around at anther really difficult place to win a game. At 10-7 straight-up, they have gone 9-7-1 against the spread including a 3-2 record ATS as underdogs. The total has stayed UNDER in five of Tennessee’s last seven games.
If Marcus Mariota can complete the clutch throws when he has to and Derrick Henry can rack-up another 150-yards plus on the ground, the Titans have a legitimate shot at keeping this game close enough to win. The problem with this scenario is the overall inconsistency of a Tennessee offense that was ranked 23rd in the NFL in yards per game (314.0) and 19th in scoring with 20.9 points per game.
Consistency has not been an issue for the 13-3 New England Patriots as the top seed in the AFC. They reeled off 11 SU victories over the course of their last 12 regular season games while going 10-2 ATS. The total stayed UNDER in nine of those final 12 games. New England was 6-2 SU at home this season with a 5-3 record ATS. It closed as a favorite in all 16 games including a double-digit spread in four of its last six games while going 3-1 ATS.
Maybe quarterback Tom Brady and head coach Bill Belichick are not the best of friends according to some recent media reports out of Foxborough siting a frosty relationship, but that has no bearing on this duo’s ability to ramp things up to an even higher level in the postseason. Looking back at last season’s run to the Super Bowl, the Patriots covered as 16.5-point home favorites against Houston in the Divisional Round before covering as six-point home favorites against Pittsburgh in the conference title game.
Tennessee at New England Free Game Prediction
I was impressed with Tennessee’s SU victory last week in a game that I did go with Kansas City to cover, but the Chiefs a far way off from being on the same level as New England when it comes to putting teams away in the playoffs as a heavy favorite. I fully expect the spread in this game to widen, so I am locking in the 13.5 point-spread at VietBet with a play on the Patriots ATS.
