Tennessee at Pittsburgh- NFL Week 11 Thursday Night Game Preview and Pick
Thursday Night Football heads to Heinz Field to kick off Week 11 of the NFL season for an AFC clash between the 6-3 Tennessee Titans and the 7-2 Pittsburgh Steelers. Game time on NBC is set for 8:25 p.m. (ET).
Tennessee at Pittsburgh Game Preview
Tennessee extended its current straight-up winning streak four games as part of an overall record of 6-3 with Sunday’s tight 24-20 victory against Cincinnati as a 4.5-point home favorite. The Titans have failed to cover in five of their last six games as part of an overall record of 3-5-1 against the spread. The total has gone OVER BetAnySports’ closing line in six of their first nine games.
Heading into Thursday night’s contest, there is some concern with quarterback Marcus Mariota’s ailing left shoulder. He should be ready to go for Thursday night after throwing for 264 yards and the game-winning touchdown pass to DeMarco Murray late in the fourth quarter to beat the Bengals. Derrick Henry led the way on the ground with 52 yards on 11 carries and Mariota added another 51 rushing yards on 6 runs as part of the Titans’ 180 total rushing yards on the day.
The Steelers are in clear control of the AFC North title race at 7-2 SU, but they fell to 5-4 ATS after failing to cover as heavy 10.5-point road favorites in Sunday’s tight 20-17 victory against Indianapolis. The total stayed UNDER BetAnySports’ closing 46.5-point line in that game and it has now stayed UNDER in six of Pittsburgh’s first nine games. It returns home with a 2-1 record ATS at Heinz Field this season.
Behind much better consistency on both sides of the ball, Pittsburgh is also riding a SU four-game winning streak. Led by the trio of Ben Roethlisberger, Le’Veon Bell and Antonio Bryant, this offense is 10th in the NFL in average yards gained (358.4). Even more important to the Steelers’ recent success is the elevated play of their defense. This unit is now second in the NFL in both yards and points allowed.
Tennessee at Pittsburgh Free Game Prediction
Tennessee has been able to exceed expectations this season, but it has picked a really tough spot to keep its current winning streak alive. The Steelers are finally meeting the lofty expectations set before this season ever got underway and I like their chances to post another win both SU and ATS this Thursday night.
