BetAnySports Pointspread: Dallas -1.5

Week 13 in the NFL gets things started on Thursday Night Football with a classic NFC East rivalry between the 5-6 Washington Redskins and the 5-6 Dallas Cowboys. Game time from AT&T Stadium on NBC is set for 8:25 p.m. (ET).

Washington at Dallas Game Preview

The Redskins lost to Dallas 33-19 at home on Oct. 29 as three-point underdogs as part of a straight-up 2-4 record over their last six games. They have gone 3-1 against the spread in their last four outings with last Thursday night’s 20-10 victory against the New York Giants as seven-point favorites at home. The total stayed UNDER BetAnySports’ closing 44-point line after going OVER in six of Washington’s previous seven games.

To avenge that earlier loss, Kirk Cousins is going to have to play mistake-free ball. While he did throw for 242 yards and two scores to pace the win against the Giants, his pick-six kept this game closer than it should have been. Washington is 11th in the NFL in both passing yards and total yards gained while scoring 23.5 points per game. It falls to 25th when it comes to points allowed (25.1).

Dallas is hoping that this Thursday’s game goes much better than last week’s 28-6 loss to the Los Angeles Chargers on Thanksgiving as a one-point home underdog. This extended its current losing streak both SU and ATS to three games while getting outscored a combined 92-22. The total has stayed UNDER BetAnySports’ closing line in the Cowboys’ last four games. They are now 2-4 this season at home both SU and ATS with the total staying UNDER in the last three contests.

The loss of Ezekiel Elliott at running back due to an extended six-game league suspension has wreaked havoc on this offense and more particularly on second-year quarterback Dak Prescott. He has failed to throw a touchdown pass in this three-game slide while getting picked off five times and sacked 14 times. The Cowboys’ defense has also been punch-less in the absence of linebacker Sean Lee, who remains out of the lineup with a hamstring injury.

Both teams need a win to stay in the wild card playoff race in the NFC and while I am not sure which team actually comes away with the SU victory this Thursday night, I am confident that the total will go OVER BetAnySports’ current 44-point line in the absence of solid defensive play.
