Washington Redskins vs. Kansas City Chiefs – 10/2/17 Free NFL Pick

BetAnySports Pointspread: Kansas City -6.5

BetAnySports Total Line: 49.5

The Washington Redskins are looking to knock off their second-straight AFC West foe as underdogs this Monday night when they travel to Arrowhead Stadium to face the undefeated Kansas City Chiefs. Game time on ESPN is set for 8:30 p.m.

Washington at Kansas City Game Preview

The Redskins are coming off an impressive prime time performance this past Sunday night after hammering Oakland 27-10 as 3.5-point home underdogs. This followed a seven-point victory against the Los Angeles Rams as three-point underdogs on the road. Washington is now 2-1 both straight-up and against the spread with its only loss coming at home to Philadelphia on opening day. The total has stayed UNDER or ended as a PUSH on BetAnySports’ closing line in all three games.

Kirk Cousins lit up the Raiders for 365 yards passing and three touchdown throws while completing 25 of his 30 attempts. A versatile Chris Thompson caught six passed for 150 yards while adding another 38 yards rushing on eight carries. A good deal of the credit for last week’s win should also go to a Redskins’ defense that held Derek Carr to 118 yards passing and Oakland’s ground game to 32 yards on 13 rushing attempts.

Kansas City remained perfect on the year at 3-0 (SU and ATS) with last Sunday’s 24-10 victory on the road against the Los Angeles Chargers as a three-point favorite with BetAnySports. The total stayed UNDER 47 points in that game after going OVER in the Chiefs’ other victories against New England on the road and Philadelphia at home. They are 13-3 SU in their last 16 home games, but just 4-9 ATS in their last 13 games at Arrowhead.

With veteran quarterback Alex Smith playing at a high level combined with rookie running back Kareem Hunt’s 401 yards rushing in three games, the Chiefs are ranked third in the NFL in both points and total yards per game. They lead the league in rushing with an average of 162 yards per game. Kansas City has also played well on the other side of the ball and despite the fact that the defense is ranked 28th in the league in yards allowed, it moves to seventh in scoring with a points-allowed average of 19.0.

Washington at Kansas City Free Game Prediction

Washington should be able to keep things fairly close for all four quarters given its current form. However, I really like the half point in my favor on BetAnySports’ current 6.5-point spread in what I have down as a seven-point Kansas City win.
